‘Just One Day’ Headed to South Florida, and Beyond

If you haven’t heard, the “Just One Day” concept is a campaign sweeping the nation, urging shelters to stop the killing of healthy and treatable companion animals for one 24 hour period – June 11, 2012, to be exact.

This day is fast approaching, and shelters across the country have agreed to participate in this groundbreaking event, including Broward County Animal Care and Adoptions and Miami-Dade Animal Services. Both will be in major need of volunteers, so if you’re in the area, please consider helping out.

(You can check out all the shelters nationwide who have signed up by clicking here.)

A joint effort between the No Kill Advocacy Center and Animal Wise Radio, both groups have provided all kinds of resources to support No Kill advocates looking to promote the event (this includes a customizable proclamation as well as several PSAs) Animal lovers everywhere are working tirelessly to spread the word and increase the count of participating communities.

Here’s how you can help:

This could become the safest day in history for America’s shelter pets. And it’s just the beginning. What can be done on one day can be done over and over again. So help spread the word about “Just One Day” and the thousands and thousands of lives that stand to be saved.

(You can invite your friends to this Facebook event, as a start.)
